Lakeside Hosts

Every Teamness pastor getaway is hosted by a caring and discerning couple who understand the challenges of church ministry, hold space to listen and care, and are sensitive to the need for couples to have ample time alone. Getaway couples at Lakeside will be hosted by one of our two Lakeside host couples.

Evan & Debbie McBroom

Evan and Debbie have been married for 38 years, have three adult children, and moved to Middle Tennessee in 2018 from Indianapolis, Indiana.

For most of their marriage, they have served in a variety of ministry roles, from Creative Pastor, Children’s Worship Arts Director, worship leader, Saturday night service team leads, and others.

In 2003, Evan launched Fishhook, a church communications and creative services agency that brought him into service with church teams across the United States.

In 2022, Evan and Debbie launched Teamness to support and encourage pastors, their spouses, and the teams and churches they lead.

Nick & Renee Amick

Nick and Renee Amick met in high school and have been married for over 22 years. They live just outside Nashville in a lovingly restored 1905 farmhouse and are parents to a 21-year-old daughter, an 18-year-old son, and a 26 year old special needs daughter whom they have conservatorship of since she was 12 years old.

Renee teaches at a local Christian school, and Nick works as a project manager in the millwork industry. Over the years, they’ve stepped into a variety of ministry roles, including leading a house church for 12 years. Today, they attend Connect Church, where they’ve found a new rhythm of serving and growing.

Nick and Renee have a heart for creating safe, welcoming spaces and simply being present. They continue to live by the reminder in Philippians 1:6—God is faithful to finish what He starts.
